So essentially it creates a situation where there is a must have device - Playstation, there is a handheld Nintendo and there is another platform - Xbox that has the same games as Playstation. They do commercials for PC Game Pass and outside the exceptional Persona 5 marketing, Xbox Game Pass is never promoted. The problem is that Xbox does not promote Xbox Game Pass. I want Gamepass day and date, no feature parity clauses and no PlayStation advantage clauses ![]() We have seen no communication that Xbox want/need to leverage COD against PS, if anything they have been quite clear that it should be treated like Minecraft. I also can’t see how regulators could enforce that COD is on PS Plus because PS need to offer X amount to replace lost sales which they won’t be able to afford/do. The rest of ABK with emphasis on the K (King) will still be under full control and generating a tonne of money. I think the bigger play is GamePass so unless it stops Xbox putting it on GamePass for 10 years I still can’t see an issue. ![]() Hmm, either way Sony still have to pay Microsoft and I can’t see how regulators could enforce that PS earn more than 30% of the revenue as they do now when it’s not their product. Enforced concession regarding COD on PS for 10 years means that Microsoft cannot threaten or use COD in any shape or for as a leverage against Playstation because they are obligated to support Playstation for 10 years anyway.Ĭonditions remain to be seen but in worst case scenario Microsoft might not even have a control over how much % Sony want
